AEEF Projects

APEEF will be used to invest in a multitude of energy projects by taking either a minority or majority equity stake. For greenfield projects, AEEF will partner up with equipment manufacturers and EPCM companies to build and operate the project. For existing projects, we will do full due diligence and take an equity stake in accordance with our investment philosophy.

Currently in Australia and India, several tenders for large commercial solar and wind energy projects have been issued by the central and state governments as well as private sector entities and these provide a very favorable business opportunity. The large megawatt size solar photovoltaic power projects in Australia and in the Asian countries, particularly India, have a term of 25 years or more with an option of further renewal. The Government of India has also recently launched an ambitious Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission to generate 25,100 MW of Solar Power by 2022.

There are investment opportunities in the coal sector in Indonesia and Australia as well. Subject to these opportunities meeting our stringent investment criterias, APEEF will make an investment taking a long term view prior to divestment.

We will also be reviewing investment opportunities in other energy sectors and make decisions on a case by case basis.

AEEF’S EMERGING MARKETS ENERGY-MIX : A UNIQUE SUPPLY CHAIN  PARTNERSHIP  OPPORTUNITY BETWEEN  THE INDIAN POWER PLANTS AND AUSTRALIAN/INDONESIAN COAL MINES

AEEF is the first of its kind and unique “Emerging Markets Energy-Mix Fund” in Australia, with a focus on India and             Indonesia, two of the largest economies in Asia. Our “Energy-Mix” investment strategies are based on our team’s proven knowledge and hands-on expertise in both the Renewable and Non-renewable energy projects.  While putting our major focus on the Solar energy, which is seeing a spectacular growth in Asia, we also equally recognize the reality that Coal energy  remains a cornerstone of Asia’s energy mix.

AEEF’s allocation to the Coal Energy is based on our uniquely formulated strategy of integrating the supply chain across the coal mining-power plant-electricity market, with a view to deliver a higher ROI to our subscribers. Through its strong  presence and network in Australia, India and Indonesia, AEEF brings together a  supply chain synergy of delivering Australian and Indonesian thermal coal to the Indian power plants. India is the largest and growing electricity market in the world and Indonesia and Australia are the major exporters of  thermal coal to its power plants. Most of the SME power plants in India are    exposed to the volatile market prices and mere signing of coal off take agreements can’t guarantee the fuel sourcing security in      Indonesia. The Australian Coal is expensive than the Indonesian coal, but the mining and sourcing of Coal in Indonesia carries a variety of unpredictable and high-risks. AEEF provides mutually rewarding partnership opportunities to these SME thermal power companies.  A portion of funds raised by AEEF will be invested in the Indian Power Plants as well as in the operating and expanding coal mining companies in Australia and Indonesia.
